Football Updates: TCU Beats SMU; First Quarter Without Points But Dealt With 42-12 Win

TCU Horned Frogs game against SMU Mustangs delayed  2 hours due to weather issue upon its schedule kick-off at 7 pm ET.  Even though TCU made a struggling start, the game ended with a 42-12 rout ensuring the victory for TCU over SMU on Friday night.

All thanks to Wide Receiver KaVontae Turpin for a 78-yard punt return for a touchdown and untouched   42-yard reception. TCU  set the schools records for 2 consecutive wins following a 30 points gap triumph over SMU on September 7, 2018, at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

In the first quarter, TCU couldn't wrap up any advantage which worsened after SMU running back Braeden West broke free for a 51-yard score. The first quarter ended with 9 points for SMU while TCU was distanced without a score.

Frogs got on the board in the 2nd Quarter with the key-play of  KaVontae Turpin made a 78-yard punt return for a TD leading over SMU by 14-12 by the half-time.

TCU Frog's Alec Dunham scooped-and-scored from 24 yards in assistance of defensive end Ben Banogu leading with 21-12 by the end of 3rd quarter.

After a 78-yard punt return by KaVontae Turpin #TCU follows it up with a fumble recovery in the end zone following a 21-yard Sewo Olonilua run. Momentum has shifted as the Horned Frogs lead 14-9 and are back up to -2500 on the ML.

Again in the 4th quarter, TCU speedster KaVontae Turpin untouched on a 42-yard reception and eventually ending the game with a 42-12 score.

TCU Horned Frogs will take on Ohio State on Saturday, September 16, 2018, at  AT&T Stadium.
